    Intro

Today (as I am writing this) is April 10th 2024 and Record Store Day 2024 is just around the corner. This year it lands on April 20th, or 4/20 (nice). If you’ve taken a good look at the list (which you can read right here if you haven’t), then you know there is a lot to be excited about this year, it’s almost overwhelming. There are hundreds of titles, 387 to be exact, which is quite a lot to pick through. But fear not! We’re here to share some of our favorite titles that we believe you should keep your eye open for.

    Olivia Rodrigo & Noah Kahan

    15,000 copies

There’s no Taylor Swift release, like the “Long Pond Sessions” that dominated record store day last year, but there is an Olivia Rodrigo / Noah Kahan release. It’s being printed on 7″ colored vinyl. It features the pair covering one another’s songs, Olivia covering “Stick Season” and Noah covering “Lacy“.

“Recorded live from the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge: Olivia Rodrigo covers Noah Kahan’s breakout hit “Stick Season”, while Kahan delivers his stunning rendition of “Lacy” from Rodrigo’s sophomore album GUTS. Available on 7” colored vinyl for Record Store Day.

    Noah Kahan

    15,000 copies

Just when you thought you got your one and only Noah Kahan release, you’re surprised with one more. Noah Kahan’s 2021 sophomore album “I Was / I Am” will be available for Record Store Day 2024 on limited-edition blue vinyl.

“Critically acclaimed Vermont singer/songwriter Noah Kahan’s 2021 sophomore album, now on Republic Records. Noah has quietly emerged as a homegrown phenomenon with a combination of vivid and powerful songwriting. Now on limited-edition blue vinyl for Record Store Day 2024.”

    Paramore

    15,000 copies

Released October 6th of 2023, just short of 8 months after the original release of “This Is Why“, Paramore released a remix album, titled “Re: This Is Why“. It features contributions from many Indie Artists, including the likes of Jack Antonoff, DOMi & JD BECK, Wet Leg, Zane Lowe, and many others. Up until Record Store Day 2024, the album has yet to see a physical release, but now you can pick it up. (Or you can pick up a copy including the original album as well.)

After the global success of the album This Is Why, Paramore released a remix album titled Re: This Is Why. Never-before released on a physical format, the album has contributions by indie darlings Bartees Strange, Claud and Wet Leg, Paramore touring partners Foals, The Linda Lindas and Remi Wolf, jazz geniuses DOMi & JD Beck, and alternative electronic wizards Panda Bear, Romy and Zane Lowe. The album also includes a brand new production of “Sanity” by the incredible Jack Antonoff.

    The Weeknd

    7,500 copies

On March 3rd 2023, The Weeknd released his first live album with “Live At SoFi Stadium” It was recorded during two concerts in November of 2022 at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, during his “After Hours til Dawn” Tour. Clocking in at an hour and 35 minutes, with 31 tracks, this album is quite hefty with 3 lps. The album has a bit of a lower quantity compared to many other releases, so if you’re a big fan of The Weeknd, you don’t wanna miss this one.

Being a huge fan of Gorillaz myself, I was excited to see an exclusive release of their 2023 album “Cracker Island“, specifically the deluxe version. The deluxe version features 6 additional tracks that have yet to be available in physical formats, as well as an exclusive new album artwork by Jamie Hewlett. The release is a limited run, pressed on colored double vinyl with four bonus tracks and two remixes, also featuring a double-sided art print by Jamie Hewlett.

    Daft Punk

Coming Record Store Day 2024 is a repress of Daft Punk’s long sought-after single “Something About Us (Love Theme From Interstella 5555)“. The single was originally released in 2003 as a 12”, 45 RPM single, and has since been alluding collectors. It currently sells for around $95.11 on Discogs, but has gone for as high as $357.92!
